Marjorie Caplin, a native New Yorker, studied art and design at LA Valley College and
Queens College. After graduation, she continued to hone her skills by designing silver and
gold jewelry. Ten years ago, Marjorie founded her own company, Whimsical Designs.
This multi-talented artist expresses her passion for animals, her delicious sense of
humor and her love of sculpture and ceramics through her porcelain sculptures and
three-dimensional pins that belie the imagination. Her work has been exhibited at area
galleries, local libraries and numerous juried craft shows. In addition, it has been featured
in exhibits in New York and Connecticut museums and at the Greenwich Arts Council.
Marjorie's custom whimsical sculptures grace the homes of Ralph Lauren (a rodeo scene)
and Martha Stewart (a sculpture of her cairn terrier).
